5:28 am do you know where your snark is

Its 5:28 in the morning right now, and i've been up for roughly 45 minutes now because the damn fire alarm has now three times chosen to go off with a hellish noise for approximately 1 second every 5-10 minutes. It seems to be done now, but its already too late to get any decent sleep done with. After the third time, i called the cambridge fire department, to see if they wanted to do anything. I expected them to send one maybe two guys over to look it over, and instead 4 cambridge firefighters dropped by in a full size fire truck with the lights going (no siren thank god). its not that i expected them to show up in a pinto, but gee whiz. anyway, the upshot is that they found nothing, the detectors are wired through the 1st floor neighbors box which was just rewired and labeled poorly so i don't know the proper breaker to turn them off, and its now 5:34 in the morning and i'm not going to even bother to get to sleep.narf. though i did manage to see LOTR again last night, and against all efforts did not manage to sleep through it. it still remains a good movie.

Actually, after you and the four firefighters went into the basement, after shining a big flashlight into the room where flyrabbit and i were sleeping (the only room with a/c), another truck showed up (the ladder). So there were TWO massive trucks outside with lights going. Also, i did manage to go back to sleep and get some sleep, though not much. i have three clients today, so i hope i am presentable!

You know, I'm giggling now, but it's a giggle of sleep deprivation so I completely sympathize. Sorry.

Oh, gods. I sympathize completely. Did I ever tell you that approximately the same thing happened to me with a smoke detector in the empty apartment next door on New Year's Day? As in just-got-home, trying-to-nurse-the-New-Year's-Eve-Hangover, New Year's Day? And it was about two in the afternoon before the fire department actually got around to doing anything about it?Well, yeah, it's funny now...Anyways, hope you were able to get some sleep between then and now. And if not, soon.

Empty apartment next door...seems like the perfect opportunity to anomously apply excessive force to the door and take care of the smoke detector yourself.anyway, its no big deal, i'm only running the gel today thats the culmination of 3 weeks work using a whole vial of radioactivity. though actually, i can't really complain, as things have gone rather well so far...i think that with more than 7hr of sleep i start to get groggy.

You'd think I'd know better, but, like I said, New Year's Eve hangover.

That's why you need to get yourself an evil alter-ego. While you, the good upstanding citizen, reported the problem to the appropiate authorities, there's no telling what that crazy down the hall whose name you don't recal and you can't describe would do.

If I'd been thinking more clearly, I would've probably done it then given a description of the perp that vaguely matched Psycho Evil Dryer-Hogging Chick with the Bunny Slippers or her friends from down the hall. And if the Screaming Family From COPS had been living there at the time...well, the authorities wouldn't have even looked at little, innocent me.You know, looking at this, I should really start learning more of my neighbors' names...
